I really like the book Black and White so far. The book has kept me on my toes throughout the book so far. I really like how the author really make sure's that we can visualize and understand what the characters are going through. The book is really detailed and I can really understand every detail that is going on through the book. I also like how every chapter changes perspective between Eddie and Marcus. So far through the book Eddie and Marcus are really good friends and they play basketball together and they are really good, their dreams are to play at St. Johns university for basketball.
One night Eddie and Marcus are out at a parking lot and they saw a man walk to his car and so they followed him. Then they went into the car and stole things then Eddie accidentally fired the gun. So now Marcus and Eddie have been very scared of going outside because they don't want to be caught by the police. Then one afternoon they are taking the bus to the movies and Eddie realizes that the man he shot was a bus driver for the city bus.

March Madness is one of my favorite part of the year in sports. Its because this is where the top 64 teams are playing at their highest level of basketball they have all year. I think one of the biggest upsets that have happened is Duke getting beat by South Carolina. That messed a lot of people up because a lot of people had duke winning it all (including me). Also I think that the biggest upset was the 8 seed Wisconsin beating the 1 seed Villanova. Also another big upset was Michigan beating Louisville. Also I think a big one was also Xavier beating Florida State.
My final four is messed up already so I cant really tell you my final four but I say Purdue, West Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin in my final four. I say this because Purdue has been playing great basketball as a team and I really think that they will be able to beat Kansas if they play their game. Also I think that West Virginia have been shooting the ball really well. North Carolina is always good and their team is really tall so they out rebound every team they play. Wisconsin has been playing really good basketball behind the 3pt line and in the paint. I cannot say who is gonna win it all it is too tough to say right now, but thats why the play the game to see who the best in the nation. 1. One difference I think that the book Night and the movie The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is, that the book Night is telling more the life the author went through during the Holocaust, and the movie was more to show you the differences of freedom Jews had compared to outside world. One similarity in these two stories was that they both had the process of the Jews in the camps and what they were put through. I thought that was well done in both of these stories because I think that was a big part of the history of this historical event.
2. I pick the main character from The Boy in Striped Pajamas Bruno. Bruno was eight years of age was short with brown hair and brown eyes. One thing he loved to do was explore. He loved to play with friends when he had them but if he didn't he would make some or find some no matter race, background, etc. I thought that Bruno really cared for others especially after he met Shmoles. I think that Bruno felt sympathy for others and wanted to help out other people in this case it would be the Jews or Shmoles. 3. My thoughts on the holocaust after this unit was that this was a terrible for people and especially Jews at this time. I think that this should of never happened but there's nothing I can do at this point. But I do think that its a piece of history that we will never forget and a piece of history that people will look back and question why this happened in this world. 4. I liked the movie better. I say this because I thought that I got a little better visual of this piece of our world history. I thought it was more meaningful to me than the book, there were times in the book I couldn't follow along with the author and I couldn't quite understand parts. Another reason why I like the movie a little more is because I thought it explained the life out of the camps and what the people were doing when they were not Jews and were not in camps. That really caught my attention. 5. No not really. Word of the Wiser
Pg. 75-76 Throughout these pages Elie and his father are being speperated for a couple days and Elie´s dad is trying to give him a knife to help his son. The life lesson I think that Elie´s dad is trying to give to Elie is that he has a longer future in front of him and wants him to survive and that sometimes you cant always try and resist the offer people give to you. I also think that Elie´s dad thinks that Elie will need the knife to come in handy more than he will. Word of the Wiser Pg. 110 On this page the doctor is telling Elie how he can´t do anything about his father. The doctor was also telling Elie that he was in a concentration and he can´t worry about his father and he has to care about himself. The life lesson I think that the doctor is trying to tell Elie is that sometimes when you are in situations like Elie you have sacrifice things and people for your good, because Elie was young and if he survived these camps as he did he would still have a big future ahead of him unlike his father who was having health problems. Again and Again Pg. 111 Elie´s father keeps asking and begging for water when he was he was ill and not doing very well at all and he had lot of problems in his health. I think Elie´s dad was asking for water because he was thirsty and really ill but also I think that he knew that he wasn't gonna last much longer and I also think he knew that himself. The first priority I would do if I were president is make our military stronger. I say this is because a part of having a strong military. A strong military could help are country in many ways for example being protected as us citizens. Also if there are any wars that we have to be a part of or help out other country's its nice to have a strong military. Also having a strong military means that they can handle nuclear weapons which is a big advantage.
The second priority I would have as president would be trying to solve the issue of immigration and the middle east. I say that because this is one of the biggest issues in the world, where millions of people in the middle east where their country is in a war with their homes being destroyed. Then when these people don't have homes they have no place to and I would solve that. I would solve this problem by accepting immigrants. The third priority I would have as president is to defeat ISIS. I would want to defeat ISIS because it is probably one of the biggest threat to the world right now and they need to be stopped. I would stop the terrorist group ISIS by teaming up with other countries to defeat them. The problem is that we can't locate them because they are in city like normal citizens and then transform into people that are armed and harmful. Over winter break I went to France. When I was in France I was located 400 kilometers east of Paris. When I was there I chilled out with family and hung out with my cousins. I did that for roughly a good 4 days. We did many things there we went to a Christmas market it was the the biggest in France and did some shopping. We also celebrated Christmas there which was a fun time because I got to see family that I haven't seen in awhile.
On the day of Christmas my family and cousin left to the french alps to go skiing in the biggest ski resort in the world. I don't personally ski I snowboard. So we spent seven days there. Everyday we skied and I snowboard and just did many slopes and just had fun. On the second day of snowboarding we were doing a stunt park and I broke my wrist going off a railing. That out me down for the first day but after the third day I got back onto to my board and continued snowboarding. The article is about how an 18 year old should know how to do 8 things. One of them for example is knowing how to talk to a stranger like a cashier or a unknown adult. Another one was how you need to know your way around, like around the town you live in or a campus. It also talks about how these things will help you if you knew how to do these things.
I think these things that an 18 year old should know are good things to know because I can tell you that a lot of 18 year olds today don't know these things. I know about all of these things because I am independent on my transpertation and I know my way around very well. I can talk to stangers if i need to I am comfortable doing that. I think that this article is good to know aboat and if you know these things before your 18 it would help you out more. A school rule that I would like to change is that you should have a minute or two longer for passing time. I say this because not all people have a study hall to talk to their friends and not everyone gets to have the same lunch as their friends do and I think passing time is a good time to give your brain a break in between classes and you would have to time to talk with your friends for a couple minutes or two anf not worrying about being late because you still have to go to your locker to get your school supplies for your next class. I also think that it would prevent people from having as much tardies for some people who are slower to getting to class.
I am thankful for many things. One thing that I am thankful is for all of the activities that I am capable of doing for example, like basketball clubs (LHBC) and the baseball club that I am part of. We get to travel and play in many places around Iowa it is fun to do those things. I am also thankful for my parents and all the things they do for me. For example, taking me to practices and letting me go places with friends and all that I do from left to right.
Another thing that I am thankful is for my friends. I am thankful for my friends because my friends are always there for me or they always help me out if I need it whether it is in sports or in the real world they are usually there. I am also thankful for my teachers and coaches, one reason for that it is my coaches in sports help[ me get better at the sport and that has come a long way for me. For my teacher they have helped me in the classroom and just out there in life. |
